Finding out and Pregnancy

Returning from a quick business trip to Germany, Marc was surprised by Jana with the announcement that another tiny person will enter our lives sometime in May or June of 2007. We are pregnant again and Stefan will be expecting a sister or brother soon. Unfortunately, the timing of the pregnancy did not allow us to find out the sex of the baby before Christmas, but we are excited to start the new year with something to look forward to.

It Is A Boy!!

On January 26, 2007, at nearly 21 weeks, we went for another ultrasound. It was quite a long session, during which the technician showed us many details of our baby. It was incredible what the technology can provide for us. We saw the spine, the face with eyes, nose and ears, the feet, the hands (we counted all the fingers), and we got to see with our own eyes that our second child will also be a boy. The picture below clearly proves it. We have pretty much decided on a name for him, but want to think about it a little longer - just in case we change our mind.

The very clear definition of a boy.

He thinks he is already so cool (look at the hand in the center of the picture)

Sebastian has arrived - 06/01/2007

On June 1, 2007, our second baby boy - Sebastian Hoffmann - arrived into this world. He was born at 8:16 AM Pacific Standard Time at Irvine Regional Hospital and weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces or 3090 grams and was 20 inches or 51 centimeters long.

In the Hospital

Since Sebastian was a full term baby, we were able to take him with us to the recovery room in the hospital. There we spent 3 days enjoying the early days with our baby boy.

OK, OK, no more pictures, please

Going Home

On June 4th, we were able to leave the hospital and return to our home in Rancho Cucamonga. A great surprise awaited us as we turned onto our street. Our friends from Jana's MOMS Club had setup a stork sign and decorated the garage to welcome our newborn.
